The first annual LLN Survivor Retreat, held on *Saturday, October 17th, 2020, from 8 am to 6 pm, welcomed a limited number of survivors who were still dealing with the effects of trauma. The one-day retreat not only empowered but also educated and connected participants with other survivors, whom we hoped would become thrivers through the tools provided during the full day of activities.

A retreat created by survivors for survivors allowed participants to step outside their comfort zones using the venue’s obstacle course, engage in team-building exercises, attend a holistic workshop, access valuable resources, and hear from a local domestic violence agency’s advocate. These experiences helped them press forward in their journey toward healing from trauma. The day proved to be a transformative one.
