BROWN BAG & CARE AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INITIATIVE
One study in Massachusetts found that 92 percent of homeless women had experienced severe physical or sexual assault at some point in their lives.
In an effort to combat this issue, LLN (year-round domestic violence awareness arm) started brown-bagging lunches and care packages to distribute to homeless in the city regardless of gender, since abuse goes across the board. The initiative happens each quarter, and you can be part of it!
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
❖ VOLUNTEER: Join us on Assembly Night to put bags together or meet us at Distribution location to help to hand out ‘brown bags and care packages’ to the vulnerable that need DV resources.
❖ HOST A DRIVE: At your office or amongst your group to collect NEW travel size toiletry items (sizes you would get from a Dollar Tree for example), or NEW, warm socks, NEW warm men and women hats, gloves, undershirts or tank tops.
❖ DONATE: Can’t make it out to volunteer or host a drive? You can give to the initiative by visiting or donation page. No amount is too small. Please note in notation field ‘For Homeless’ and thank you!
Call 888.LLN.9876 or email info@lovelifenow.org to drop-off donation items prior to Assembly Night or to be notified of the next quarter’s date.
THANK YOU!!!
