BROWN BAG & CARE AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INITIATIVE
One study in Massachusetts found that 92 percent of homeless women had experienced severe physical or sexual assault at some point in their lives.
In an effort to combat this issue, LLN (year-round domestic violence awareness arm) started brown-bagging lunches and care packages to distribute to homeless in the city regardless of gender, since abuse goes across the board. Since then, this initiative happens each quarter, and you can be part of it.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
❖ VOLUNTEER: Meet us at distribution location by 8:45 a.m. each quarter to help to hand out ‘Brown Bags and Care Packages’ to those in need and/or join us on Assembly Night to put bags together!
❖ DONATE: Create a Drive at your office or group to collect NEW trial size toiletry items (sizes you would get from a Dollar Tree for example), or socks, men and women warm hats, gloves, undershirts or socks.
Call 617-803-8357 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to drop-off donation items prior to Assembly Night or to be notified of the next quarter’s date.
