    I honestly can’t imagine what it would feel like to be in this situation…horrified, helpless, defeated but also strong, determined and resilient to have the strength to walk away. I would take my kids and money but would hope that I’d also have a bag ready with all legal/bank docs, passports and a few days worth of toiletries and clothes for us.

      @lisahuffman70 the last sentence really touches on why having a safety plan in place is so important for victims when then they leave! When victims finally get that strength you mentioned (def hard to muster up), it is important to connect with a DV Advocate at a DV Agency to create a plan to leave and leave safely.
