I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and passionate Advocate Against Domestic Violence. I have been fortunate enough that I’ve never experienced D.V. personally, however, I grew up in the Caribbean and unfortunately, especially back then…it was common place. I can remember on many different occasions, passing by homes walking from school and hearing things break, furniture toppling or being thrown, yelling, screaming, swearing, begging, and I WOULD KEEP WALKING. Neighbors would gather on the sidewalk to watch or whisper but no one would ever intervene. I’ve got a lot of ‘walking away’ to make up for and I intend to do it through the Love Life Now Foundation by raising awareness through our Initiatives so that others will think twice about walking away.
