Thank you for everything Lovern, you made it happen WE made it happen!!
Thank you to everyone that joined in this virtual walk. You are all an inspiration to me.

I’m proud to have brought some awareness to this important cause, #heeler I have been completely empowered by all the movements against violence not only here in the United States but around the world, as MLK said, In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends! We all can make a difference if we all c…[Read more]

    • Super important quote that still resonates today Laurie! Great job on submission and yes…you raised awareness on a subject that is still so taboo to many…the narrative and silence must change…thank you!

    Heelers!
I cannot believe it’s our last week of Virtual Heeling! So much awareness on your part in the last month and for that, we at Love Life Now Foundation thank you!

This week’s heeling challenge is asking you to throw on those heels for some up close and personal time with the camera. In anticipation of the LIVE 1 hour culmination of the H…[Read more]

    #whatwouldyoutake challenge
I honestly can’t imagine what it would feel like to be in this situation…horrified, helpless, defeated but also strong, determined and resilient to have the strength to walk away. I would take my kids and money but would hope that I’d also have a bag ready with all legal/bank docs, passports and a few days worth of…[Read more]

    • @lisahuffman70 the last sentence really touches on why having a safety plan in place is so important for victims when then they leave! When victims finally get that strength you mentioned (def hard to muster up), it is important to connect with a DV Advocate at a DV Agency to create a plan to leave and leave safely.

I really struggled with the question of what 2 items to bring. Some of the first things that crossed my mind were smart devices that might make it easy to find me if I were careless. So I would have a bag packed with all of my important documents and some cash, as well as a burner phone and any small, precious items I could fit (e.g. my…[Read more]

My #heeler challenge this week, what would I take with me! I’d have a purse ready to go, all legal documents, passport license, health insurance cards, and money. Yes it’s more then one thing but it can all be kept together and taken quickly. Your beautiful, your strong and YOU are worthy of a safe home 💜

    • Def items to grab Laurie!
Maybe also keeping copies of those important docs with a burner/prepaid phone at a friend or families’ house or work would be great too! That window of time to escape sometimes is so narrow and love that you thought of these things!

Today I choose to make my voice heard!! 👊🏻 This month i had decided to be a #heeler and raise awareness, no idea how impacted I would become after the senseless death of George Floyd at the reckless hands of law enforcement. Today, I choose to stand up for Black and brown rights so no one has to live in fear! 👊🏾👊🏿 No man, woman or child should be…[Read more]

    • Change is uncomfortable but necessary given the past and current climate. Thank you very much Laurie.
Do what you can to become allies but more than ever, do something as opposed to nothing.

The two things I would take at a moments notice would be my purse with all my personal belongings and important information in it and my cell phone to keep in contact with friends and family.
